A collaboration with Dr. Brad Story, and Dr. Frank Guenther of Boston University

SLHS is pleased to announce that Dr. Maas has been selected to receive a New Century Scholars Research Grant from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation, for a project entitled “Feedback and Feedforward Control Mechanisms in Apraxia of Speech”. This project, a collaboration with Dr. Brad Story and Dr. Frank Guenther of Boston University, will test several hypotheses about the nature of the underlying speech motor control impairment in adults with acquired neurogenic apraxia of speech as well as adults with aphasia. The estimated project duration is 19 months. Dr. Maas will be acknowledged at the annual ASHA Foundation Founders Breakfast at the ASHA Convention, on Friday November 20, from 6:45 to 8:30 am, in the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel (Armstrong Ballroom).
