Chemistry Camp on June 27
SLHS and the Department of Chemistry, with support from the Department of Radiology and the Southern Arizona chapter of the Autism Society of America, sponsored ”Chemistry Can Be Fun” camp on June 27 for adolescents with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism. Participants engaged in experiments including “turning” copper to silver to gold, developing disappearing ink, and making nylon fibers. Two more camp days will be scheduled during the school year. Chemistry Camp is made possible by a grant from the American Chemical Society. For questions, contact Jennifer Casteix at casteix@email.arizona.edu.
