The 2009 Orientation Breakfast is scheduled for August 21 at El Parador Restaurant. Check-in begins at 8am and the breakfast buffet begins at 8:30am. RSVP to Denise Minopoli.
In this annual meeting, Audiologists in the Tucson area who are supervising students will meet with UA Clinical, Instructional and Research Audiology/Hearing Science faculty. Any issues or suggestions from preceptors will be discussed. We will also provide information about new programs, courses, areas of research, faculty in the SLHS Audiology/Hearing Science section.

SLHS’s Hearing Clinic, along with Community Outreach Programs for the Deaf and Midtown Sertoma, are teaming to continue providing refurbished hearing aids to those in need through the Tucson Community Hearing Aid Bank. The Hearing Aid Bank is a program through which low-income adults can purchase hearing aids at an affordable price. You can support the Hearing Aid Bank by donating your used aids for refurbishing. People interested in receiving hearing aids can contact Barb McDevitt at 520.792.1906.
The article “Principles of Motor Learning in Treatment of Motor Speech Disorders” (Edwin Mass, Donald A. Robin, Shannon N. Austermann Hula, Skott E. Freedman, Gabriele Wulf, Kirrie J. Ballard & Robert A. Schmidt) in the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology was chosen for meeting the highest quality standards in research design, presentation, and impact for a given year. Dr. Maas will be recognized for this achievement with a presentation during the Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 20, during the ASHA Convention in NOLA.
