Dianne J. Van Tasell is Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She earned the M.A. degree in speech pathology from the University of Iowa in 1972; and the Ph.D. degree in audiology from Northwestern University in 1977.
From 1977 to 1997 she was a faculty member of the Department of Communication Disorders at the University of Minnesota, where she attained the rank of Professor. From 1996 to 2002, she was Director of Advanced Research at Starkey Laboratories, Eden Prairie, MN.
Her research interests are in speech perception, hearing loss, and hearing aids. Dr. Van Tasell is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
