William Hodgson

Dr. Bill Hodgson was Professor at the University of Arizona from 1971- 1994.  Dr. Hodgson was a leader in the fields of audiometry, audiologic evaluation, rehabilitation and amplification.  He authored multiple articles and books, including two seminal books:  The Handbook of Adult Rehabilitative Audiology and Basic Audiologic Evaluation. He was honored as Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Outside of work, Bill loved to travel backroads looking for interesting rocks. In his retirement, he was actively involved with the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, serving as President. Bill was an important mentor to many audiologists in our community and nationally.  He passed away in 2019 and is greatly missed.
