Dianne Patterson, PhD

Research Scientist

  • SLHS 497/597 - Workshop: Computing Skills for Research Labs

Dianne Patterson has a Master's in Linguistics and a PhD in Psychology. She used imaging technologies to model the articulatory apparatus of the African Grey parrot for her doctoral work with Alex the parrot.

Since getting her PhD, Dr. Patterson has become increasingly interested in imaging technologies, and is currently exploring how connectivity analysis can help us to understand the language network in the human brain. She acquires and curates fMRI and DTI data for Dr. Plante’s lab, and is an active collaborator in Dr. Beeson’s lab and Dr. Kielar's lab.
