Jessie Erikson, MS, CCC-SLP

Jessie Erikson is a doctoral candidate in SLHS working with Dr. Mary Alt and minoring in Cognitive Science. Jessie completed her BA in linguistics at the University of Oregon before earning her MS in speech-language pathology at the University of Arizona. She is currently completing her dissertation on the relationship between vocabulary knowledge and academic achievement in science for children with and without developmental language disorder. Jessie is also a Project Coordinator for Profiles of Working Memory for Educational Research (POWER), a longitudinal, multisite study on working memory development and its relation to academic achievement in school-aged children with developmental language disorder, dyslexia, and typical language development. Jessie’s broader interests include word learning, semantic knowledge, and the intersection between language, cognition, and academic achievement in children with and without language disorders.
