Academic Programs

Our department offers four degrees:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) - designed to provide foundational information to develop critical thinking skills, the ability to evaluate scientific information, and to facilitate the development of writing skills
  • Master of Science (MS) in Speech-Language Pathology - fully prepares graduate students for a clinical career in speech-language pathology
  • Doctor of Audiology (AuD) - 4-year plan of study and clinical training that fully prepares students for a clinical career in audiology
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) - develops outstanding independent researchers and teachers; provides a broad base of knowledge about human communication sciences and disorders and significant in-depth preparation in their special areas of concentration within the discipline.

Program Accreditation

The Master of Science (M.S.) residential education program in Speech-Language Pathology and the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) residential education program at the University of Arizona are accredited by Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.
