(1) Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS)

CSDCAS is the centralized application service for numerous accredited clinical education programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. See the CSDCAS Applicant Help Center for tips on getting started and a recommended timeline to help ensure your application is in VERIFIED status by our deadline to apply Feb. 1st (11:59 PM ET) . Per CSDCAS your application must be considered status "complete" to be placed in line for verification.

If you are having any difficulty with CSDCAS' website and/or application, please contact CSDCAS directly at csdcasinfo@csdcas.org or 617-612-2030.

CSDCAS Application Statuses:  Applicants are responsible for monitoring application status. (Progress/Received/Complete/Undelivered/Verified.)

Things you need to complete your CSDCAS Application:
  1. Official Transcripts: Read more about the transcript process here: Sending Transcripts to CSDCAS.
    • IMPORTANT: If you are/were enrolled in Fall 2024 courses, we will not review your application until we receive a verified application from CSDCAS including your Fall 2024 grades.  If this applies to you, you have two options:
      1. Do not submit your official transcript to CSDCAS for verification until your Fall 2024 grades are recorded.  Since we do not start making admissions decisions until February 1st, this will not impact your chance of earning an acceptance.
      2. Submit your current official transcript for CSDCAS verification and proceed as described by CSDCAS.
        • Once your Fall 2024 grades are reflected on your official transcript, send an Academic Update to CSDCAS.  Since you will have already been verified, CSDCAS will only look at the Fall 2024 grades for the new courses you have completed.
        • As soon as we receive notice from CSDCAS that your Academic update has been verified, we will consider you for admission to our program.
        • Click here for information about the CSDCAS Academic Update process.
  2. Personal Statement:  The personal statement serves as both a writing sample and a chance for you to let us know about your interest in the field. The best personal statements do not simply repeat information already addressed in the application, but give us insight into the candidate. There is no formula for a good personal statement, so don't worry if your story is different from your peers. We appreciate diversity.  In one page, single-spaced, size 11 or 12 point font, with standard margins, address the following:
    • Describe your career goals.
    • Explain why you are interested in the field of Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. You may comment on aspects of the discipline that interest you, insights gained from coursework, clinical, research or other personal experiences.
  3. Experiences and Achievement Activities:
    1. For each experience, please address the following:
      • Time you spent doing the activity (ex: 20 hours per week, 5 hours a month).
      • Date range of your experience (ex: August 2016 - May 2018).
      • A few bullet points to highlight information about your experiences. Include your responsibilities, accomplishments, and what you learned.
    2. Please list any relevant experiences you have had in the following areas:
      • Leadership experience, extracurricular activities, and volunteer experiences
      • Research experience.
      • Supervised clinical practicum experiences [include the nature of the disorder(s)]
      • Work experience (including military experience)
      • Any academic, scholarly, or professional awards you have received
  4. Resume:  Your resume should highlight information on your research experience, clinical experience, employment experience, volunteer/service activities, leadership activities, extracurricular activities, publications, honors and awards, scholarships and grants, and/or professional memberships or affiliations.  There are no strict guidelines related to number of pages or font, but we recommend a 1-2 page document using an 11 or 12 point font.
  5. International applicants: Submit official English Proficiency standardized test scores (TOEFL/IELTS).

2. University of Arizona Graduate College Application (UA GradApp)

To complete your Grad College Application (select Campus: University of Arizona - Main):
  1. Unofficial Transcripts: From all Universities and Colleges you have attended. If you have already graduated, your transcript MUST show your degree confirmation. All transcripts must be legible.
  2. Personal Statement (called statement of purpose in GradApp):  The personal statement serves as both a writing sample and a chance for you to let us know about your interest in the field. The best personal statements do not simply repeat information already addressed in the application, but give us insight into the candidate. There is no formula for a good personal statement, so don't worry if your story is different from your peers. We appreciate diversity.  You can use the same version submitted to CSDCAS if you would like.
  • In one page, single-spaced, size 11 or 12 point font, with standard margins, address the following:
    • Describe your career goals.
    • Explain why you are interested in the field of Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology. You may comment on aspects of the discipline that interest you, insights gained from coursework, clinical, research or other personal experiences.

3. Letters of Recommendation: In your UA GradApp you will be asked for names and contact information for three (3) people who will provide letters of recommendation on your behalf.

  • IMPORTANT: Our admissions committee will NOT review letters/ratings submitted to CSDCAS. Our admissions committee will only review the letters and ratings submitted to UA GradApp.
    • If you will be using the same letter writers for both CSDCAS and UA GradApp, you need to let them know that they will be prompted to review you through both CSDCAS and UA GradApp.
  • As soon as you enter your letter writers' contact information (Name, title/position, department name, physical address, phone, and email) in your UA GradApp, they will receive a link to the application and a code. When they access the site, they will be asked to fill out a short rating form (short list of attributes) and upload a letter of recommendation.
  • At least two (ideally, all three) of the letters must come from academic faculty, from any department, who know you well. We do make exceptions for applicants who have not been in school for several years.
  •  You can check on the status of your recommendations at any time by logging in to the UA Graduate Admissions Application, selecting your application from the section titled "My Applications", and clicking "Letters of Recommendation".

4. Application Fee: Submit Payment.

5. Submit Application: Must click the "Submit" button on the Signature Authentication Page.
