We love to hear from our alumni!
Lauren Mann (M.S. ‘21 & B.S. ‘19) and Taylor Madsen (M.S., ‘21) received a promotion as co-lead speech-language pathologists at a pediatric multidisciplinary private practice in San Diego, CA. Their role as “Site Mentor Clinicians” at their prospective locations involves creating/updating clinical protocols, implementing weekly staff trainings, answering clinician questions, facilitating communication with management, creating clinical resources, and much more. It makes them fulfilled to provide daily support to other speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Lauren and Taylor are also fulfilling their dream of working as SLP’s to improve children’s quality of life with their communication skills. They share that UArizona's SLHS program prepared them to be strong clinicians, leaders, and researchers in the clinical world. Part of their promotions involved Lauren and Taylor moving to separate sites, but on the weekends they enjoy spending time together exploring San Diego’s beautiful beaches and great eats!
Tamra Mullen (MS Class 2014) welcomed her 4th child in January 2023! Her family is growing, and so is her Tucson-area private practice, Speech With Heart LLC. She continues to seek pediatric SLPs to accomodate an ever-growing caseload. To get in touch, visit: https://www.speechwithheart.com/ or contact Tamra at: info@speechwithheart.com.
MS ('11) and PhD ('15) alum Christina Meyers-Denman recently visited with a future alum! Dr. Meyers-Denman is an assistant professor at the University of Colorado Boulder where she directs research with children with typically developing language, children who are late talkers, and children with developmental language disorder. She is also teaching undergraduate and graduate courses to aspiring SLPs and AuDs.
Jenna Turner, MS Class of 2014 shares “I've officially taken over ownership of Pediatric Speech and Language Specialists! In Phoenix, AZ I was wondering if SLHS has any kind of announcements or newsletters I could send this exciting info off to. Always recruiting and I love my UA grads."
