Frank Musiek honor

Congratulations to Dr. Frank Musiek, recipient of the 2020 Gold Medal from the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons International, the highest honor given by this organization. The Royal Arch Masons honored Dr. Musiek for his extensive applied and basic research in the field of neuroaudiology and more specifically supporting those with central auditory disorders. The Royal Arch Research Assistance (RARA) program has supported individual auditory research since 1970s and more recently broader based support for the Hearing Research Foundation and Autism Speaks.

Dr. Musiek, also a recipient of ASHA honors in 2010, and the James Jerger Career Award for Research in Audiology in 2007, joined our department faculty in 2014. His research on electrophysiology and central auditory processing has led to the discovery and implementation of numerous procedures that are widely used for assessment of the auditory brainstem and central auditory pathways. His research career has also contributed in a substantial way to understanding the anatomy, neurophysiology and pathophysiology of the human auditory system.
