Congratulations to Dr. Jenny Hoit on Retirement
Dr. Hoit joined the faculty in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona in 1990. Her expertise is in speech physiology, and she has a long history of funding from the National Institutes of Health that supported her research. In 2016, Dr. Hoit was named the first Director of Postdoctoral Affairs at the University of Arizona and served in that position until her retirement. Dr. Hoit is a College of Science Galileo Circle Fellow, a Fellow of the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association, and past-President of the American Association of Phonetic Sciences. She has served as a reviewer on NIH study sections and Editor in-Chief of the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology. Dr. Hoit has received numerous teaching, mentoring, and advising awards from the University of Arizona and has contributed locally, nationally, and internationally to professional development and ethics instruction for graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and administrators. The department looks forward to future collaborations with Dr. Hoit as Professor Emerita.
