Amanda Martinez, MA, CCC-SLP
Amanda joined the clinical faculty at the University of Arizona in March 2023. She earned a BS in education, majoring in communication disorders with a minor in Spanish in 2000 at New Mexico State University (NMSU). She completed the NMSU Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology graduate program in 2002, which helped target skills needed to work with culturally diverse populations. She completed her Clinical Fellowship at Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation in Abilene, Texas and at Providence Acute Care Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
Amanda has worked in multiple settings over her 20-year career. She has worked in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, memory care senior living, birth to three home health settings, adult acute care, outpatient settings, and private practice. She treated pediatrics at Loma Linda outpatient rehabilitation center in Loma Linda, California and assisted in creating an outpatient pediatric program at Redlands Community Hospital in Redlands, California. Amanda has expertise and training in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), Modified Barium Swallow Studies, International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), and dysphagia therapy including Ampcare Effective Swallow Protocol.
