Alyssa Sachs, MS, CCC-SLP

Alyssa Sachs, MS, CCC-SLP, is a doctoral candidate in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master of Science degrees in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona. She is currently working on her dissertation, which aims to examine the relation between phonological ability and grammatical construction in sentence-level reading and writing. She also contributes to research projects in the Aphasia Research Project lab, under the supervision of her primary mentor, Dr. Pélagie Beeson. Alyssa’s general research interests include investigating the nature and treatment of acquired language disorders in adults. In addition to pursuing her doctoral studies, Alyssa works as a speech-language pathologist in a skilled nursing facility in Tucson, and she is a co-instructor for an undergraduate course (SLHS 207) that provides a broad overview of human communication and its disorders.
