Carmen White, PhD, CCC-SLP

Assistant Clinical Professor

Carmen White earned her PhD in Integrated Health Sciences from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and both her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Mercy University. Dr. White’s experience extends across medical, educational, and community settings, including inpatient/outpatient care at Kaiser Permanente, long-term care, skilled nursing, and school-based services. Her clinical interests include parent coaching models that support language development in young children at risk for delays, Hanen’s More Than Words program for children with Autism, and speech sound disorders. Her research focuses on culturally responsive pedagogy and workforce sustainability in speech-language pathology.

Prior to joining the clinical faculty at the University of Arizona, Dr. White taught courses such as Language, Literacy, and Learning, Interprofessional Practice in Speech-Language Pathology, and Introduction to Communication Disorders, while mentoring graduate and undergraduate student clinicians in diagnostic and therapeutic practices. She is committed to preparing future clinicians to enter the workforce as reflective, culturally responsive practitioners.
