Overview

Dr. Shehorn is an Assistant Professor of Practice in SLHS. His primary role is to facilitate audiologic education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He completed a Certificate in College Teaching from the University of Arizona and employs learner-centered teaching techniques. He seeks to foster positive and effective learning environments by utilizing various student engagement techniques and by developing mutual respect with his students.

Dr. Shehorn graduated from the University of Arizona with a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) in 2017 and completed his PhD in 2018. His research interests include the associations between hearing loss, aging, cognition, and hearing aids as well as the assessment/treatment of vestibular disorders.

Dr. Shehorn previously provided hearing care as a traveling audiologist at long-term care facilities in the Chicago area for the Americans for Better Hearing Foundation. He also provided vestibular assessment/treatment services in Louisville for the Heuser Hearing Institute.
