AuD Student Chosen for ASHA Leadership Program
Selena Hopkins-Morand to participate in MSLP
SLHS has a strong tradition of students being selected to participate in ASHA's Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP). This highly selective leadership program provides training and networking as well as educational and career opportunities. You can read more about it on this page.
Selena Hopkins-Morand (they/them) is a 2nd year AuD student in SLHS who was selected to participate because of their commitment to serving culturally and linguistically diverse communities and promoting racial and ethnic diversity in the profession. As the founder of the Graduate Speech-Language-Hearing Cats of Color in the department, Selena is already leading change in SLHS by promoting inclusivity for minoritized graduate students. They graduated with a BS from the University of Arizona in 2020. SLHS could not be more proud of them, and is looking forward to seeing the impact they will make in the field.
