SLHS faculty member Dr. Leah Kapa and MS graduate student Elissa Shiff were recently honored by the ASHFoundation.
Dr. Kapa received the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation 2025 New Century Scholars Research Grant of $25,000 for her study “Examining Bidirectional Benefits of Language and Executive Function Interventions for Preschoolers with Developmental Language Disorder.” The New Century Scholars Research Grant is designed to advance knowledge, tools, and techniques in communication sciences and disorders. Only 4 grants are awarded each year.
Elissa Shiff received a National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association Endowed Scholarship Award of $5000. Only 3 are awarded each year.
