Graduate Student Receives ASHFoundation Grant

Hannah Rosenberg Jones, an MS student at the University of Arizona, received a $5,000 American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship during the 2018 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention.

The Graduate Student Scholarship program supports master’s and doctoral students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in communication sciences and disorders .  

Hannah Rosenberg Jones is following a three-year track to earn an MS in speech-language pathology. While completing her coursework, she is conducting research aimed at better understanding the ways local children speak Spanish. Hannah also volunteers regularly at the Arizona Sonora Border Projects for Inclusion. In the future she hopes to work with children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and serve veterans with speech, language, and swallowing difficulties. “I am grateful to the ASHFoundation for their vote of confidence. This scholarship will help me stay afloat financially as I balance my studies, work, and volunteering.”

The ASHFoundation is a charitable organization affiliated with ASHA that promotes a better quality of life for children and adults with communication disorders.
