Externs Abroad

SLHS strives to provide a well rounded clinical experience for every graduate student. Sometimes that experience takes you out of the country! During Summer 2015, 2nd year MS student Madelaine Heath completed a six-week clinical placement at la Fundación Tierra Nueva in Quito, Ecuador, working with children with autism and cerebral palsy. She attended classes, and particpated in health care provision in a busy hospital setting.

2nd year MS student Laura Burger used her bilingual and bi-cultural skills while completing an 8 week clinical placement with preschool and school-age children  in Puerto Rico.
