We are pleased to announce that our graduate programs were again ranked among the best in the country! In the newly released U.S. News & World Report 2021 Grad School rankings, our Speech-Language Pathology program is ranked 6th out of 261 programs in the nation, and our Audiology program is ranked 10th out of 75 programs. We are proud of this continuing tradition!

The University of Arizona Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences emerged as a leading program in the 1970s with the targeted hiring of a cohort of prominent researchers as the University solidified its status as a research-intensive institution. The strong research base in communication sciences and disorders is complemented by excellent clinical education programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Graduate students learn the scientific foundations of speech, language, and hearing as well as evidence-based clinical practice.

National rankings of graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report did not begin until the 1980s, and the University of Arizona programs were highly ranked from the start. We are approaching four decades of recognized excellence. We are thankful to all who contributed to the building of the program and its continued achievement over the years. Congratulations SLHS!!
