Congratulations to Dr. Genesis Arizmendi
Assistant Professor Genesis Arizmendi was honored as one of only four Early Career Scholars across the entire University at the 2026 University of Arizona Distinguished Faculty Awards ceremony on September 23, 2026.
Dr. Arizmendi is an Assistant Professor in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a joint appointment in Cognitive Science and teaches courses supporting both Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and the Neuroscience & Cognitive Science program.
Her community-centered research examines how bilingual language experiences shape learning, development, and access to opportunity for children and adults in multilingual and multicultural settings. Her interdisciplinary work is helping advance both clinical practice and our understanding of bilingual language and cognitive processes.
