Alyssa M. Smith, PhD, OTR/L, NBC-HWC, End-of-Life Doula
Dr. Alyssa M. Smith is an occupational therapist, board-certified health and wellness coach, and end-of-life doula. She is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Arizona whose work centers on advancing integrative health and wellness coaching and community health promotion interventions for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their care partners. Using community-based participatory research (CBPR) and mixed method approaches, Dr. Smith aims to develops inclusive, evidence-informed interventions that promote health, reduce stress, and enhance quality of life for folx with IDD and those who support them. She also directs The GLOW Lab, which seeks to illuminate pathways toward equitable, whole-person wellness for neurodiverse communities.
