Danielle Girard, MS, CCC-SLP

Danielle Girard completed her undergraduate degree in Theatre and Communication at Trinity University in San Antonio before returning to school for her master's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Prior to returning to graduate school, she worked in both the private and non-profit sectors in marketing, program coordination, and education roles in the U.S. and Chile. After graduate school, she honed her speech-language pathology skills with the New Mexico VA Health Care System in Albuquerque and Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, in both outpatient and acute care settings. These experiences provided the opportunity to support patients with a variety of communication disorders, with special emphasis on swallowing, upper airway, voice, head and neck cancer, and cognitive-communication disorders secondary to acquired brain injury. She is deeply interested in improving interdisciplinary care, inclusive and culturally responsive practice, and the patient education/counseling experience.
