MS Student Receives Centennial Achievement Award
Genesis Hernandez '17, MS '20 was recently selected to receive one of five Centennial Achievement Graduate Student Awards. The Centennial Achievement Awards support the University’s strategic goal of valuing and supporting the diverse experiences of our students. The awards are presented to students who are working on advanced degree programs in the Graduate College during the current academic year. The primary purpose for the awards is to recognize outstanding achievement and contributions by select graduate students and to provide financial assistance and recognition to encourage these students to complete their Graduate studies. In years past, the awards were presented to two students at the Master's level and two students at the Doctoral level. In 2018, due to the philanthropic commitment of past Master’s Award recipient, Dr. William Broussard MA ‘02, PhD ‘07, the Division of Student Affairs was able to award a third Master's student .
Hernandez, who completed her undergraduate education at the University in 2017, is also the recipient of past awards including the SLHS Departmental Outstanding Senior Award and the College of Science Outstanding Senior Award. She is a fine example of the amazing students that we have in our department. We wish her continued success throughout her education and career.
